The Trocadero, Paris Pre-1937
Paris, the City of Light or the City of Love, but never called the City of Change, is in constant flux. The Trocadero is only one example; built for the World's Fair of 1878, demolished in 1937 to make way for the Palais de Chaillot. Les Halles (see article) was Paris's central market, then a shopping mall, and now the hub of numerous metro lines, shops, restaurants and even a hip-hop center. Is change what makes Paris so vibrant?
